Hi! I am a senior History major/Digital Arts & Humanities minor at Carleton College, originally from New Jersey. I am passionate about exploring the human side of technology and discovering new ways to make technology more accessible and user-friendly.

Working as a Digital Humanities Associate at Carleton, I have collaborated with humanities faculty on a variety of digital research projects, including a guide to medieval Rome and a virtual museum of the Crusades. Most recently, I worked alongside my professor to complete a quantitative textual analysis of medieval English chronicles for academic publication. In the process, I learned how to wield a number of digital tools, from ArcGIS to Omeka to Unity, and have helped faculty incorporate this software into both their research and their teaching.

I have been fortunate to complement my experience at Carleton with opportunities at the Library of Congress and the U.S. Senate, where I gained invaluable experience in the public sector. In my role as a legislative intern for Senator Cory Booker, I participated in the policy-making process through my research for the 2019 Climate Stewardship Act, a bill that sought to reduce carbon emissions through a robust environmental program. At the Library of Congress, I identified metadata for over 2,500 laws as part of the Statutes at Large project, with the goal of making these acts accessible to online researchers. Through these experiences, I deepened my understanding of the interactions between policy-makers, information, and the public.

In the future, I hope to combine my experience in the digital humanities and public sphere to find new ways for communities to connect with one another and the world around them. I plan to pursue a career in information science with a focus on leveraging technology to improve society.
